Sesame Gifts

As I mentioned before, I will also do long-distance relationships apps reviews from time to time. We all have been targeted, whether is thru Facebook or Pinterest to use this apps but I’ve always wondered if it is even worth it. We have SMS/text and Facetime, so why download even more apps into our phones. Some of them costs some of them are free. I stumbled on Sesame Gifts thru a Buzzfeed post and really wanted to give it a try so I partner up with them to take the app and website out for a spin.

The app is designed to make gifting easier. For us, couples in long distance relationships, it can come in handy since they already have gift packages designed for different occasions or simply just because. They could also be considered care packages, and you can either choose from a pre-made themed gift box or create your own.

The folks over at Sesame gave us 2 gift codes, one for me and one for my fiancé and we ordered stuff for each other. He did it thru the app and I did it thru their website so we could have a better review of the whole experience.

He got me the Golden Knot GiftBox which includes this gold delicate necklace, which I love, this cute little “Oui” plate for my jewelry, both by California based designer Aubemade, a Saijo Persimmon candle by Voluspa which smells like heaven- and in case you are wondering what heaven smells, in my mind is clean-burning coconut wax blend. And last but not least these adorable matches by Sesame.

 

I got him the Mixology 101 GiftBox because he really loves a good Old Fashion and I love Moscow Mules, so it sounds perfect for date night! It includes Aromatic and Citrus Bitters by Hella Bitter, a cute little cocktail book called The Cocktail Hour Collection: Rum, Gin and Vodka (bummer it didn’t have the whiskey ones) by Scout Books, a King Ice Cube Tray by Tovolo, a wooden muddler and two 16 oz. mason jars, because cocktails always look better on mason jars.

My rating (website):

Pros: Easy to navigate and choose what you want to send them. Lovely, clean web design. I loved that you save contacts in so the next time you order something for that same person, their info is already stored within your profile. They have some really cute things on their packages!

Cons: You have to create a profile, yes it does come in handy but maybe a Facebook connect button could make it easier? I just hate to fill out information boxes. They don’t have too many options (yet, I’m sure they will come up with more soon). It doesn’t have a cart so you can’t save your package and come back to it, for example; I was on set shooting a commercial so I had to stop various times or just had to close the tab and I had to start over every time. While I love what their packages have, some of them seemed pretty pricey for what they offer. Lastly, they don't have it in Spanish, so thats a huge missed opportunity!

His rating (app):

Pros: He really liked the UX/UI design (user experience of the app) and thought it was pretty easy and friendly to navigate.

Cons: He found it confusing when it was time to choose the recipient because his info was popping up so he didn’t know if it was the sender or receiver’s info.

Also, right now Sesame is running a promotion called "Gift More, Get More" which gives you $20 credit for every $100 you spend until 11/30 and is to be used in December, so what a great way of getting free money for the holidays! If that wasn't enough motivation, they run a giveaway every Sunday by using the #SesameSunday, so get on it!

Como ya saben, les prometí que iba a hacer reviews de apps ara relaciones de larga distancia. A todos nos ha tocado ver los ads en Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter y hasta Instagram pero siempre me he preguntado si realmente valen la pena. Si tenemos mensajes de texto, Facetime, Skype en los teléfonos y en el computador, ¿Para que necesito más apps? Algunos de ellos cuestan dinero y algunos son gratis. Me encontré con Sesame Gifts por un post de Buzzfeed y me intrigo muchísimo y quise darle un chance. Así que hice una colaboración con Sesame para intentar el app y el website.

El app esta diseñado para hacer el proceso de dar regalos un poco mas fácil (o bueno muchísimo mas fácil). Para nosotros que estamos en una relación de larga distancia, es bastante conveniente tener un app como este. Ellos ofrecen paquetes pre-diseñados para diferentes ocasiones o simplemente porque si. También podrían ser considerados como “care packages” y pueden escoger entre uno ya pre-hecho o crear uno.

La gente de Sesame nos dio 2 códigos para ordenar 2 paquetes, uno para mi prometido y uno para mi. El hizo la experiencia del app y yo hice la del website para poder tener los 2 puntos de vista.

El me compro el Golden KnotGiftBox que incluye un collar de oro super lindo y delicado (me encanta), este platico que dice “Oui” para las joyas, los dos de un diseñador en California que se llama Aubemade, una velita que se llama Saijo Persimmon de Voluspa, ¡que huele espectacular! Y unos fósforos super cute de Sesame.

Mi rating (website):

Pros: Fácil de navegar y de escoger lo que quieren enviar. Tiene un diseño limpio y bien diseñado. Me gusto mucho que puedes grabar tus contactos para la próxima vez que quieras ordenar algo para esa misma persona, su información ya esta lista y no hay que volver a escribir todo. Tienen cosas muy lindas y exclusivas en sus paquetes.

Cons: Hay que crear un perfil, y si es bueno porque graba toda tu información pero tal vez el botón de Facebook connect ayudaría bastante para hacer el proceso un poco mas fácil y rápido? O tal vez soy yo que odio llenar las cajitas

Me parece que no tienen muchas opciones, o bueno al menos no por ahora, estoy segura que conforme pase el tiempo tendrán más. No tiene un cart así que

No se puede guardar lo que quieres para luego volver a el. Me encantan la mayoría de los paquetes pero hay unos que me parecen muy costoso para lo que traen. Y finalmente, no tienen la pagina en Español lo cual creo que es una gran falla.

Su rating (app):

Pros: A el le gusto mucho la plataforma y el diseño UX/UI (la experiencia del usuario del app) y le pareció fácil de navegar

Cons: Le pareció un poco confuso que cuando tenia que escoger a la persona la que se quería mandar el paquete , su propio nombre salía ahí así que el no sabia si era la información del que envía o del que iba a recibir.

Finalmente, Sesame tiene una promoción que se llama “Gift More, Get More” que te da $20 de credito por cada $100 que gastes en el website y va hasta el 30 de Noviembre y es para usar el crédito en Diciembre. ¿Que mejor manera de tener dinero gratis para la navidad? Y si esto no es motivación suficiente todos los domingos tienen un giveaway usando el #SesameSunday, así que a ganar!
