Shirt Dresses FTW!

Photography by: Angel Torres

Guess what?! the weather is finally warming up! 🙌🏻 I can almost smell Spring in the air! Finally that time of the year to ditch the parkas and trade it of all the light Spring pieces. One of my go-tos this year I can tell that it will be shirt dresses.

Spring OOTDs Are on Their Way... Eventually!

Photography by: Angel Torres

Anyone else over winter already? Don't get me wrong; I love the snow and some cold but... I mean... 🙄enough is enough after we just got the news that this was the snowiest February in record for the state of Minnesota, yay me for living here!

But enough complaining and let's focus on the bright and warm future that is waiting for us because I want to start wearing cute clothes and pack up my snow boots and winter coat. I am rounding up a few of my favorite Spring items that are a must have for this season!

Valentines Pt 2: Pants and Roses

Photography by: Angel Torres

OMG Valentine's Day is around the corner! 😱With so many options on what to wear, I wanted to do a version with pants.

Want to hear a funny story? when I was a little girl I used to have an unreasonable phobia to pants. My mom could not even mention the word pants to me because I would throw a tantrum and cry. Cut to the 32 year old me that now wears pants for 90 % of the time. I think it was because when I was a little girl I had this idea embedded that pants = boys and apparently I hated boys? Any way I am glad I grew out of it because I was missing out on a lot of flexibility and fun 😂

Valentine's Part 1: Sexy Date Night

Photography by: Angel Torres

Crazy to believe that we are already at that point into 2019 where we are talking about V-day already, right?! Seems like yesterday that we were celebrating the end of 2018.

So, let's get started. The first look is Sexy Date Night. Not a lot of people feel comfortable exploring their sexy side, and I must say I may be one of them. I am rather modest at times specially when things get busty I don't necessarily jump into it. But when the right pice comes along you just gotta go for it! and if there is a time to explore this might as well be on a romantic date on Valentine's.

One Piece Two Seasons: The Tulle Skirt

Welcome to the first edition of One Piece Two Seasons! This is the first blog series that I am launching and hopefully I will be posting at least 1 blog post a month about it. So why am I creating this? Well, I've come to realize that not everyone has the budget to update their wardrobe every single season. Most of us keep pieces that we want to re-use but now that I live in real seasons I have missed wearing some pieces that I really love because I store them away an completely forget about them because they are not "winter" or "summer" pieces.

But let's let that sink in... winter or summer pieces... or fall or spring pieces? who defines when you can use a certain piece or not? ok granted, I will not wear denim shorts on this feels like 9F degree whether but there are certain pieces that if styled correctly and layered up properly can totally be used in different seasons.

So let's begin these series with one of my fave pieces that I got last year; the tulle skirt.

Starting The Year With On The Right Foot With Kamik

Photography by: Joy By Jo

Oh hey 2019! We welcomed the new year with a beautiful snowy night. And it was the perfect way to end it! We live in Minnesota as you all know and by now (I think) we are used to the cold. But I must say this year it has been pretty amazing, but also global warming 😭

Since it started snowing in the early afternoon hours we decided to take a small trip to Stillwater, MN for lunch. We put on our Kamik boots, which by the way are just amazing!

RSVP Yes to All the Holiday Parties!

Photography by: Angel Torres

Work parties, friends parties, family parties. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year and an even better when it comes to fashion and what to wear to all the event we all have during the holidays.

Since it's just my hubby and I here in Minneapolis we only had a few parties to attend; Sarah Edward's Holiday party (with probably the best well dressed people in the Twin Cities), I had a Target Creative Holiday at Lee's Liquor Lounge; my first time ever there and I loved it! reminded me of all the dive bars in Austin. And last but not least we hosted a small dinner for our friends before they all traveled. We decided not to travel this time around even if we already had plans to do so because of Milo and well he is still trying to recover from that horrible week wee had with him.

Time to Go Back to Basics

Photography by: Mailee Photography

Sponsored by Zappos
Classic looks can vary and really what means classic to me can be totally different to you. While I love classic, I do like to put a little twist on them just to sprinkle some of my personality into it. It also helps finding balance when it comes to a really loud piece of the outfit where it still makes a statement but feel right when surrounded by classic pieces.

Sherpa Everything Please!

Photography by: Angel Torres

Have you seen Sherpa around everywhere you go lately? Well, you are not alone. It is the latest and hottest trend for winter and I am here for it! I have to say I did not love the trend when it started but now in Minnesota that the weather gets chillier faster I have to say I have been loving it.

Trend Alert: Mustard, Animal Prints and White Booties

Oh Fall! It's finally here with all its gorgeous colors. I must admit that some of the trends that I am seeing now took me by surprise. I was not expecting animal prints to come back so strong and little less that I would be all about it!

Military Jacket: The perfect Fall Transition Piece

Photography by: Angel Torres

I always have a tough time when people ask me how I define my style. Truth is I don't have a style but I do have one rule when I get dressed: I have to be comfortable. I dress myself depending on my mood! Some times I feel much more girly and I throw on all sorts of pinks and florals and some times I feel a little more daring and throw on a pair of high waist jeans, a military jacket and a pair of black leather booties. But that is the magic of fashion, that it truly is an expression of how you feel!

Embracing Sexy: Date Night Outfit

Photography by: Angel Torres

I've always have been a believer that being sexy does not necessarily mean to show a whole lot of skin. And by no means I am not saying that women who want to show their gorgeous bodies are wrong, but I myself am more of a "modest" type fo person when it comes to sexy-dressing. I also have always been a fan of date night (as my husband!) but I need to be better about dressing up for the occasion, at the end of the day even if we are married or in a relationship we should always try to keep the spark going.

The Red Polka Dot Dress

Photography by: Street Style MN

You guys have asked me so much about this dress. And well, the story is a little embarrassing but here it goes:

I've been eyeing this off red polka dot dress and had it on my Pinterest board for quite some time. When I finally decided to buy it, well the price was a little more than I wanted to pay. If you know me, you know Im into cheap fashion. Yes, I do get certain pieces every now and then that may be over $100 but the bulk of my wardrobe is not.

My Take On Corporate Dressing

Photography by: Emily Voss

You all know that I don't dress up for work. I dress up for event, and those are blogger events which are very different from "regular people" definition of dressing up.

I was invited to attend a Diversity & Inclusion conference in Las Vegas last week. Maybe you were following me along on my Instagram stories, maybe you weren't. To give you a little background; I am a creative person and the thought of dressing up literally makes my skin crawl. Have you been there? when thinking corporate dressing is as boring as a gray or black pantsuit and thats about all you get to wear all week long? Gross!

Adding Back Spring Vibes

Photography by: Angel Torres

Well, Spring has finally sprung in the Twin Cities and I could not be more excited about it! After 2 feet of snow last weekend, hitting 60 degrees today felt like paradise. This winter felt like it was 30 years long so I am so excited to revamp my Spring wardrobe and the scents I've been using.

Each season has its charm, it's smells, and it's vibe. But I personally love spring and all the new life that brings. This year I'm really into spring dresses; perhaps not the traditional colors but anything flirty and light like this polka dot wrap dress. I paired it with this straw hat and bag because don't they just scream summer?! And no look is complete without the perfect scent to go with it so for this look I decided to use the Caress Sweet Violet Botanical Body Spray because I am a sucker for musky scents and I felt like it went perfect with the dress!

Macy's Resort Swimwear Fashion Show Recap

Photography by: Angel Torres

This year I have found myself at a lost for words more often than not, in a good way! So many amazing things have happened and its only January!

I had the pleasure to co-host the Macy's Resort Swimwear Fashion show at the Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka, MN. This was my very first event as a blogger and of course I was super nervous! I have more often than not been always behind the scenes and creating this events but I've never been the talent so this was really scary! But what helped me the most was my hubby (as always) and meeting my fellow co-host Lindsay Higgings and we bonded over cocktails in New York. She helped me feel more at ease and also guided me thru the usual process since she has done a couple of these already.

These Shoes Were Made For Hustling: Embracing my inner Girl Boss

This is a sponsored conversation with Shoes Of Prey, but all opinions and text are my own.

Photography by: Angel Torres

First post of 2018! YAY! I’m hoping to set the tone for this entire year with this post and all the goals I have for my brand and my blog. I don’t think there would be a better way to start the year but with a great pair of heels that scream Girl Boss like this ones from Shoes Of Prey.

This year I am truly not feeling the whole “resolutions” thing. I think it just leads to disappointments. Now, that doesn’t mean that I don’t have goals for this year, to the contrary I have way too many goals! But I rather chose to have a clear understanding of my goals and working one day at the time to get there. I don’t know when I’ll get them but I am happy knowing that I have 365 opportunities to get there.

The Little Red Dress

Photography by: Angel Torres

Life got hectic and got happier with our new pup Milo, so I've been investing lots of time and energy on him since this are his first weeks at home. He quickly became a priority and with the holidays in sight I decided to step back from the blog this month.

But Im back since a lot of you asked me about the little red dress I wore to the Strategic Socials dinner in November so I wanted to make a quick post with THE dress and some other more affordable options as well. The dress I wore was from Self-Portrait and I got it at Luxury Garage Sale Minneapolis. I paired it with this gorgeous Prada bag and blue-gray velvet sandals from Shoe Feature.
