While I am not in school anymore, (or at least for now, because I do plan to go back at some point) I know many of you are still in college, or even high school. I’ve partnered up with essence cosmetics at Target to share with you my everyday look and inspire you to get a fresh and easy look for back-to-school.

As you know, I’m no beauty expert, but I want to share what’s working for me and that I think will benefit you. My go-to place for most of my makeup is Target. Not only am I obsessed with the store, but it gives me a one-stop place to get everything I need, from home needs and wedding decor, to cute outfits and, well, beauty. I am not a huge fan of the super expensive makeup. While I get why some people buy it, I am pinching pennies for my wedding and am honestly not ready to give up my money on just makeup. So when I heard about essence cosmetics I decided to give them a try.

Not only they are affordable, but their quality is really good, so it’s a win-win! I want to show you an easy look with their products that you can use for everyday, and if you are no makeup artist, like me, then you will enjoy this.

  1. Since I live in South Florida and it’s hot as hell and very humid, I stopped using moisturizer. Instead, I only use a 45 SPF sunscreen that keeps my face protected as well as moisturized. Then, I apply a light coat of foundation. I have been using a skin clearing foundation because I have had some issues with acne in the past.

  2. I used Pure Nude Concealer for those under-eye dark circles and it truly brings out my eyes. I love the coverage and it was a total bargain for $3.49. I have a very oily complexion. Although I wish I didn’t need it, the humidity in Miami is unforgiving so face powder is a must.

  3. Then, I apply a small amount of Blush Up! Powder Blush that I got for only $3.99. A tip that I learned is to not make the “fish face” to apply it. Instead, smile and apply it to the apple of your cheeks for a more natural look. I like to do a little contouring, especially to my nose to make it look a tad thinner, and to define my cheekbones a bit more. I really liked the essence Contour Powder to give me the light contouring that I was looking for.

  4. I usually don’t like to put on too much eye shadow so I use the All About Eyeshadow palette. More specifically, the Nudes color palette. I love it because the colors are pretty neutral but once applied give a lot of dimension to the eyes. This one was $5.49.

  5. Speaking of eyes, I ALWAYS use liquid or gel eyeliner. I’ve tried a few brands but I really loved how dark the color was for the essence Gel Eyeliner - Midnight in Paris, perfect  to do my signature eye wing. I literally do this every day and I really love how it gives my eyes a bit more of a stylized and flirty vibe.

  6. I will let you in on one of my biggest beauty secrets: I do not use a regular eyelash curler, simply because they do not work on my eyelashes. I was blessed to have really long (seriously long) eyelashes, but they are really straight. For some reason the curler doesn’t even budge them. So, I found a great alternative. Although it’s a bit odd, it has worked for me. I use a spoon. Weird, huh?! I simply press the eyelashes between my thumb and the edge of the spoon a couple of times and voilá! Lashes for days! ThenI apply the Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara that works wonders on them! I love that they look so full. This one is $4.99.

  7. Oh! I cannot forget about the eyebrows. I have always had pretty full brows, but I like to define them a bit more with the Essence How to Make Brows Wow Make-Up Box. It has three different colors, a highlighter, plus tweezers and a small brush for $9.99. So, pretty much everything you need in a tiny cute box.

  8. Lastly, I do my lips. I used the Essence Lip Liner in “Wish me a rose” that is about $1.99. I have jumped on the overlining-the-lips trend and it has worked wonders! because God knows I have tiny lips. Also, I then apply the Essence Longlasting Lipstick to finish my look. This one runs about $2.99.

So here is the end result. An easy, pretty, affordable look.
