Trending: Mini Skirts For Fall

While summer was a magical experience in the Midwest, we are already getting glimpses of fall. I wasn’t digging it at first until I saw this Christmas movie that got me excited about the cold weather.

One of my favorite thing that comes with welcoming fall is the new wardrobe. The thigh high boots, cozy sweaters,  felt hats, oversized scarfs and sweaters!


When I lived in Miami or even in Austin, getting fall pieces was not a thing. So, I do like to experiment with layering, new trends and re-using old stuff in new ways. A trend that I picked up on very late in fall last year was the mini and oversized sweater trend. It is not easy to pull off since getting that tuck is a little challenging when you have so much fabric but with practice it’s doable.

I paired this trend with a grey hat and this incredibly cute blush motto jacket. I know I promised to use more color and that I was going to dial down the blush on my wardrobe but how could I resist?! A good fall outfit is not completed without a good pair of booties. Since I walk to work and knowing that winter is coming, I decided to use get these flat leatherbooties. I love how comfortable they are and that even though they are simple they have a lot of personality.

I am not gonna lie, I am having a hard time letting go of summer just because I never anticipated how wonderful it would be. On the other hand, last fall I was in the process of moving to Minneapolis so it went by so fast that I really could not truly enjoy it. So, apple picking, pumpkin patches and warm lattes here I come!
