Now that I’m back from
Miami with a sun kissed tan, it really made me think about how I treat sun skincare as a whole. Not only because I wanted a tan (after hibernation for 6
months) but also because I became very aware of it a few years back.
I am not going to lie,
I’ve been pretty reckless with my skin. I used to be the girl who would go a
couple of times a week to the tanning salon to lay on a tanning bed back in
high school. I KNOW! IT WAS AWFUL! I did it for a couple of years until I moved,
and my tanning salon was not close to me anymore- Thank God! I truly can’t even
imagine all the damage I caused to y skin and how many years I added to my
appearance just because I wanted to be super tanned.
Then when I lived in
Miami I never really cared to apply SPF when I went to the beach, I tan pretty
easily but I also got some serious sun burns because I would not put anything
at all to protect my skin.
It was only until I
moved to Austin that I started to care. I started a treatment to reduce the
appearance of acne scars on my face (I used to have really bad acne) and the
marks on my face have always been something I’m very self-conscious about. It
was in the midst of a Texas summer when I decided to do the treatment and I had
to be really careful with sun exposure because if I didn’t use SPF my face was
going to have a LOT of dark spots. So, that is when I started using it religiously every single day.
Now that time has pass
by, I still do it. The Olay Complete Moisturizer with sunscreen has been my
go-to. Not only is super lightweight but it also has the perfect combination
between a oil-free moisturizer and a sunscreen which is very important to me,
especially during the summer because I have oily skin.
Now, as I’m 20 days
closer to my 32nd birthday I know that protecting your skin against the sun,
especially during summer should be a priority and I also know that a healthy
tan is achieved with a good sunscreen too!
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Olay. The opinions and text are all mine.
