Getting ready for a Minnesota winter

I have received information and materials from Johnson & Johnson Consumer, Inc., McNeil Consumer Healthcare Division. The opinions stated are my own. This is a sponsored post. This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. #WinOverWinter #CollectiveBias

So I moved, again. Which means, yes, we are doing long distance once again, and this time as a married couple. This really sucks, but I will get to the details of the move in a later post. For now I want to talk about the new life I have! I took a job at Target Headquarters as a creative and I could not be more excited! The job required me to move to Minneapolis, MN. So a whole lot of preparation is happening and a Target run had to happen.

I know what you are all thinking: “OMG but it’s so cold there!” Going from Miami to Minneapolis is a huge change, and it’s not just the weather—it’s pretty much everything. I have been here for about a week and a half and the weather hasn’t been that bad. I’ve actually really enjoyed the nice change from the heat and humidity in Miami. It has been around 40 to 60 degrees and as sunny as it can be. While it has taken me a bit to get used to, I am pretty excited to have seasons again, to see the snow and to have a change overall.

As I get ready for the oh-so-scary Midwest winter, I am prepping up so I came up with a Winter Kit with lots and lots of cozy sweaters, furry pillows and warm blankets. I also stocked up on Extra Strength Tylenol since I’m not used to this weather and it will get a whole lot cooler, which I’ve been told can take some time to get used to, and can affect my body. I am already starting to have some body aches, and I am pretty sure some colds are coming my way, so I should be prepared. Not to mention moving stuff around to get my apartment all set up got me a little sore, so the Extra Strength Tylenol is already helping big time with my move. I love that one single bottle can be used for so many things! My Winter wellnes kit also includes other must-haves like tissue paper, lots of yummy tea and some local honey, which by the way I have learned this helps out a lot with allergies!

Starting over is not easy but I am very motivated about my new job, meeting new people and getting to know a new city. I am sure you’re asking “What about your husband?” Well, he will move here as soon as he can, but first he’ll be taking care of some things in Miami, so for now we’ll once again be flying back and forth with lots of texts and Facetime, and of course, the biggest hello and goodbye hugs we can humanly give.

If you are in the Midwest or any other partisan the world where you have a pretty strong winter please drop me some advice and tips on the comments below!

¡Me mude otra vez!
